Herbal Care
I weave astrology and herbalism together for a holistic, interdisciplinary, root-cause approach to your health. The goal of this work is not to “fix” you but to give you and your body the resources you need to experience more agency in your own self-tending. And I’ll be with you every step of the way.
Why do I have to apply? Why can’t I just book?
If you scroll down, you’ll notice it says “Apply for Tended Garden” rather than “Book Your Package.” I ask you to apply for two reasons.
I am only going to accept a few clients at a time because this work is intensive and totally custom.
If I don't think I will be helpful to you, I will do my best to refer you to someone else rather than take you on as a client.
Either way, I'll get in touch and let you know next steps.
A Note on Scope of Practice
As an herbalist, I hold healing space for any client I see and that includes knowing when I can’t help. If a client comes to me with a topic best suited to a different kind of professional, I will refer that client out.
It’s important to note that herbalists in the U.S. are not licensed and I’m not a doctor or a therapist. I do not diagnose or offer prescriptions; I share knowledge and experience. Additionally, I don’t practice in-depth medical astrology. I don’t work with electional astrology to select surgery dates or other medical procedures. While I offer nutritional guidance, I do not create custom diet plans.
“My sessions with Maeg were a conduit between individual therapy and my personal spirituality. They helped me connect to my origins, cosmic and corporeal. Maeg’s genuine curiosity into the fullness of who I am — then and now, joys and struggles — helped me feel present, steady, and connected. The Tended Garden Guidebook they prepared is a path back to self, which I return to when in need of spiritual grounding. I’m grateful for Maeg’s help restoring my relationship to world around me.”

Herbal Offering
Health is a physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, cultural, institutional, and planetary ecosystem. It's a tangled jumble. It needs a multidisciplinary jumble in response. That’s why Tended Garden is as integrative and custom as it is.
In this work, I see myself as a guide and educator but you will also be guiding me. I'm not going to hand you a protocol and vanish. We're going to create a plan together, using all the tools we have.
What kinds of things do we work on in Tended Garden?
As part of Tended Garden, we’ll come up with our intentions together. Here are some real examples of intentions I've co-written with clients so you can see how diverse this work can be.
To ease PMS symptoms of cramping, bloating, and mood shifts
To balance health and mood as the seasons change
To support the digestive system to reduce heartburn and improve nutrient absorption
To bring less pressure and more vibrancy to spiritual practice
To learn about and create a preventative plan for heart conditions
To bring levity and optimism into decision-making
To improve sleep and support energy levels
You’ll see my definition of “health” is myriad. Often we’re mixing and matching what might fall into categories of “physical health” and “emotional/spiritual health” concerns — because that’s what it is to be human.
If you're interested in this collaborative, integrated care, you can apply below.
What's the structure of Tended Garden?
We do this work over three 60-minute sessions.
The first session is an intake. You can expect an in-depth conversation about your health story and, as is relevant, your astrology chart. This is not a medical astrology offering. I do not use the chart as a diagnostic tool. If I feel we need more time, I will ask you if we can book another 30-minute session at no extra charge.
Our second meeting takes place two weeks later and it is the protocol session. I’ll come with a proposed protocol (and a rough draft of your guidebook), and we'll collaborate on it together. Then you experiment with your protocol for a month, with email support from me.
Finally, we'll meet for a follow-up after the protocol month and see where we want to go from there.
Payment Plans
By default, this exchange is paid in 3 installments of $185. The first installment must be paid upon booking to secure your spot. However if you’d like a different payment plan after that initial deposit, I’m open to it! Email me to discuss other payment plans.
BIPOC Pricing
I hold a few 50% off Tended Garden packages for people of color and Indigenous/First-Nations people. These packages are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If these are communities to which you belong and would like to work together in this capacity, please let me know.
“So supportive, warm, and gentle. I would absolutely recommend Maeg to others—I already told one of my friends if they're ever interested in getting an astroherbal consult, they should consider coming to her!
I really appreciated how Maeg listened so carefully and attentively, and how they helped me feel like an active participant in my healing process, which I don't often get from other practitioners. I also really enjoyed getting to talk about astrology and herbalism together! As someone with an interest in both and totally see them as interlinked, it's so helpful to have an interdisciplinary and holistic model to work from.”

Meet Your Herbalist
Hi, I’m Maeg and I run Third Sister. As an herbalist and astrologer, I offer an interdisciplinary, holistic, root-cause approach tailored to you and your health story. My intention with our work together is to bring you into nourishing companionship with your body and the wider world. I do this work in collaboration with generous, ancient allies — plants and planets. In our sessions, we will look at your birth chart for guidance and to the plant world for support, but most of all we will lean on the wisdom already brimming within you. You’ll also gain practical tools for self-tending and enrich your relationships with the more-than-human world.
Know Me Through My Teachers
I’m indebted to Rebecca Altman, especially her courses on trauma, embodiment practices, and connecting to the elements. Rebecca changed me as a person and subsequently, as a practitioner. She opened me up to the other-than-human world and helped me trust my subtler senses. In that way, Rebecca is the foundation of everything you see on this site. There are lots of ways to engage with Rebecca’s work but I first fell in love with her writing. You may too. Read her writing here.
I studied herbalism in a few places but didn’t settle into anything truly rigorous until I enrolled in the Commonwealth Center for Holistic Herbalism’s program. I studied with Katja Swift and Ryn Midura for several years. They taught me to balance what science can tell us about herbs and what folk tradition has always known. Their thoroughness, commitment, and constant emphasis on the human in front of them keeps me coming back to their teachings.
My herbal work carries a deep imprint from my time in mentorship with astroherbalist Sarah Corbett of Rowan & Sage. Sarah offers liberation-oriented, integrity-filled, world-enchanting programs for beginners and advanced herbalists alike. Seasonal Herbcraft is perfect for folks who are excited about the combination of astrology and herbalism, but all of her programs are incredible and unlike anything else I’ve seen.
“Being in consult with Maeg is like foraging in a field of flowers with a friend: light-hearted, exciting, and time passes so quickly. Their openness and kind approach to both the world of our plant allies and our own inner biome-worlds helped me feel at ease sharing my ailments, and in asking for support. Maeg helped me build new health habits by building relationship with the plants I consume, and she also thoughtfully tied these habits to where they may express for me astrologically. She has been instrumental to helping me find plant friends that have brought a lot more release and calm to my body, and I cannot recommend their work enough! It is wonderful to collaborate with someone who not only revels in the poetry of relationship with all beings on this planet, but also has a gravitas and humility to the scholarship she brings forth in their work.”
